For over 43 years, The Venetian Restaurant has drawn
diners who seek the very best in Italian cuisine. It is owned and operated by
the DiLullo family, including Michael, Fiorita and their daughter, Marilena.
Michael comes from Abruzzi, Italy, where he
developed his love of the hospitality industry. He honed his talents at some of
Rome's finest restaurants and hotels until immigrating to New York City in
1960. His talents were further embellished there by working at The Colony, The
Brussels, and El Morocco, which are all world-renowned for their exquisite
cuisine and service.
Fiorita joined him in New York, and in 1970, they
came to Torrington. The Venetian was opened on July 15th of that year by
Michael, Fiorita, Michael's brother-in-law, Joseph, and his wife, Maria.
Michael and Fiorita have operated the restaurant since 1990, with Fiorita as
chef, and were later joined by Marilena in 1996.
Marilena's astonishing talents are a combination of
her mother's taste and cooking flair and her father's warmth and careful
oversight of the customers. As a family, along with their loyal wait staff,
they are the perfect ingredients to a most satisfying dining experience.
